Calvin Rafferty enters a flooded 1920s Arkham after an occult ritual traps his partner Faye Bennett in the Dreamlands and hostile forces take her body. His attempt to recover her becomes entangled with the source of the flood and the eldritch powers consuming the city.

No: it is a sequel in franchise and mythology, but not a direct continuation with the same protagonist, city, or central case. The Sinking City 2 follows Calvin Rafferty and Faye Bennett in Arkham, so newcomers can follow the main story without finishing Charles Reed's Oakmont investigation.

The central characters are Calvin Rafferty, the playable occult adventurer, and Faye Bennett, his partner whose failed Dreamlands ritual drives the rescue story. Official store copy also names major threats such as the corpse-animating Slither and the Deep Ones.
