Inventory space forces choices between weapons, ammunition, healing, and puzzle items. Safe Room storage lets players leave supplies behind and return after creating a shortcut.
Exploration, maps, and saving
Maps distinguish rooms that still hold useful items from rooms that have been cleared. Locked doors and interactable objects remain marked, turning exploration into a readable checklist without revealing every route through damaged walls or flooded passages.
Safe Rooms provide manual saving, storage, and Talent management. Major checkpoints also autosave, but saving manually before a difficult route is the more reliable way to protect progress.
Investigations and puzzles
Investigation is streamlined compared with the first game but still matters. Documents can be connected to reveal a code, identify an optional solution, or reward an upgrade point, while physical puzzles use fuses, symbols, rotating devices, and environmental patterns.
Optional cases do not gate the main campaign. They reward exploration with resources, attachments, lore, and safer routes that can make the next mandatory area easier.
